DETROIT, MI - It's the jackpot of a lifetime. A Detroit area woman has won the largest progressive jackpot in Detroit casino history.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous and who visits Greektown Casino frequently, won the $2 million jackpot on Sunday night, December 13, 2015 playing a Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
$2,005,393 to be exact.

She says she thought she had broken the machine.
'I saw the winning combination come across the line and the machine went dark. I thought, I just killed the machine. The machine then lit back up and revealed I had won over $2 million and I thought, wow, I really did kill it!'
This is the highest progressive jackpot won in Detroit history. The previous highest progressive jackpot of $1.77 million also was won at Greektown in February 2004 on a nickel Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
The guest's daughters describe the winner as someone who is always giving. 'She has done without in her life to take care of others,' they said.
The winner says she plans to treat herself to a new dress and go on a fun vacation to Disney World and Cabo.

Greektown Casino says it gave out the largest progressive jackpot in Detroit’s history Sunday night, awarding more than $2 million to a woman playing a “Wheel of Fortune” slot machine.
'I saw the winning combination come across the line, and the machine went dark,' the winner told the casino in a statement. 'I thought, I just killed the machine. The machine then lit back up and revealed I had won over $2 million, and I thought, ‘Wow, I really did kill it!’ '
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, will use the influx of cash to buy a new dress, a trip to Disney World and a trip to Cabo San Lucas.
She also plans to return to Greektown Casino, the statement said.
The city’s previous largest progressive jackpot was also at Greektown Casino, in 2004. That year, a casino guest playing a 'Wheel of Fortune' machine scored a prize of $1.77 million.
